I remember taking my first Intro to Web Design courses in high school, loving the creative lens and process behind it, yet straying away because I never saw other Latinas like me pursuing this field. After completing a degree in International Studies and Chinese in college, I realized I still possessed a longing for that creative technological side that I enjoyed once before. I have loved transitioning into software engineering, applying my experiences in leadership, customer service, and data management to this field. Coming from a first-gen, Dominican-American background, utilizing technology to educate others on DEI is important to me. I plan to continue this work throughout my personal and professional life and am excited to bring my skills and ideas to influential software engineering teams.
